Gentle Breeze - A Love Poem--By Michael Todd--United States

Gentle Breeze - A Love Poem

I love you more than mere words can express,
Would there was a way my thoughts to contain;
No cunning notions for you to address,
Just me speaking to you, in words arcane.

I love you more that flowers love the rain,
Heavenly blessing sent to earth below;
Make sense of this topsy turvy domain,
When it goes well with you, style apropos.

I love you more than you will ever know,
With all I am and all I would possess.
Your waltzing eyes dealt my stone heart a blow;
Drift before me in your red dancing dress.

Some say love comes with thunder, lightning, keys;
Our love is carried... on a gentle breeze.

  4. Beautifully heartbreaking as most great ends are. To be the end of this is to the end off good things. Ever yours, ~Mimi

    1. Some times we are rushed to the ends, Mimi. Other times, when fortune smiles on us, what we have becomes static, as if suspended in time, and these can be the best of times, where even time is not binding. Something like that. :)

  5. Michael, I ask, who wouldn't or couldn't love you in return after reading this heart-grabbing poem? Easily, it would stir a dead heart to beating again! Bring life to a wilting rose! Ah! Sheri

    1. Sheri, if I could bring life to a wilting rose, I could manage anything. There was a time I thought I was capable of such, but I was wrong. Truth be told, though, it was sure fun trying...

      Thanks for your very kind words. You always leave me smiling with heart felt observations. You have a gift, and share it well.

  6. The most beautiful love poems are those that are simple and true. This is the most touching and endearing love poem I've read in a long time. It truly makes me sigh.

    1. These feelings just sort of sneak up on a person, and tap lightly on the shoulder. No more announcement than that is required.

      Thanks bunches for coming to call, Dahlia. You make me happy.
